Tight end Josh Hill is following Dan Campbell to Detroit.
The Lions reunited Hill, 30, with the recently installed head coach by signing the free-agent tight end to a deal on Saturday.
Terms were not disclosed. Hill was released by the New Orleans Saints earlier this month with one year remaining on a three-year, $8.85 million deal.
Campbell, who was an assistant with the Saints, landed his first head-coaching job with the Lions in January.
Hill, originally an undrafted free agent out of Idaho State, spent eight seasons with the Saints. In 117 games (61 starts), he compiled 116 catches and 1,071 yards with 15 touchdowns.
A run-blocking specialist, Hill had just eight catches last season despite playing 33 percent of the offensive snaps for New Orleans.
