Detroit Lions safety Tracy Walker is speaking out about the death of Ahmaud Arbery, whom he referred to as his cousin.

“A person full of laughter and joy,” Walker told E! News on Friday of the 25-year-old Arbery, who was shot and killed while jogging Feb. 23 in the Satilla Shores neighborhood of Glynn County, Ga.

Two men — Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34 — were charged with murder and aggravated assault Thursday after a graphic video surfaced of the killing.

“That’s crazy they killed my cousin in cold blood like this,” Walker wrote Tuesday on Twitter.

It was not clear if the two men were related by blood.

Walker went into greater detail with E! News.

“It’s crazy that a man was out there jogging by himself and just getting exercise and he was shot down. We can’t continue to kill ourselves and kill each other off. That’s not OK,” Walker told E! News.

“… We can’t continue with the violence. But like I said, we know he’s in a better place and he’s smiling down on us and he’s going to want us to continue living our lives. That’s all we can do and we just have to continue to push forward.”

Walker, 25, recorded 124 tackles and two interceptions in 29 career games (12 starts) since being selected by the Lions in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
