Green Bay Packers starting cornerback Kevin King is in the concussion protocol, coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Wednesday.

King was held out of Sunday night’s 30-28 road win against the San Francisco 49ers due to an illness.

He still wasn’t feeling well when the Packers returned home Monday and the team determined he had a concussion.

King, 26, had five tackles while playing 112 defensive snaps in the first two games of the season. He has collected 173 tackles, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 43 career games (38 starts) since the Packers drafted him in the second round in 2017.

If he doesn’t clear the league’s concussion protocol in time, rookie Eric Stokes will likely make his second start on Sunday when the Packers (2-1) host the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-2).
