The Jacksonville Jaguars will re-sign safety former Green Bay and Dallas safety Josh Jones for the 2020 season, his agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN Friday.

Jones started a career-high 13 games for Jacksonville last season, becoming a starter in the secondary before the season opener shortly after the team traded Ronnie Harrison to the Cleveland Browns.

Jones, 26, enters his fifth NFL season and second with the Jaguars. The team originally grabbed him as a waiver claim in December 2019 from the Cowboys. In 2020, Jones posted a career-best 83 tackles (third on the team), with one interception.

Selected in the second round (No. 61 overall) by the Packers of the 2017 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State, Jones played two seasons with Green Bay (starting 12 of his 29 games) before being cut before the 2019 season. The Cowboys signed him to the practice squad that October.

In his four seasons, Jones has 211 tackles, two interceptions and three sacks in 48 games (25 starts).
