New Jacksonville head coach Urban Meyer is in talks with Raheem Morris about the Jaguars’ defensive coordinator job, ESPN reported Sunday.

Meyer, hired last week to replace Doug Marrone after Jacksonville’s 1-15 campaign, coached in the collegiate ranks for more than 30 years but has never worked in the NFL.

Morris, 44, has worked on NFL sidelines since 2002, including 11 games as the Atlanta Falcons’ interim head coach in 2020 and three seasons coaching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009-11.

Morris went 4-7 with the Falcons after Dan Quinn was fired and compiled a 17-31 record with the Bucs, highlighted by a 10-6 season in 2010.

Morris began last season as Atlanta’s defensive coordinator. He joined the Falcons in 2015 as an assistant head coach and defensive backs coach following three seasons coaching the defensive backs in Washington (2012-14).
