Kansas City Chiefs rookie safety Juan Thornhill sustained a torn ACL in the team’s regular-season finale, coach Andy Reid confirmed on Monday.

Thronhill was injured in a non-contact situation during the first half of Kansas City’s 31-21 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Thornhill, 24, recorded 57 tackles, three interceptions and a touchdown while starting all 16 games this season since being selected by Kansas City in the second round of the April draft.

Kendall Fuller and Armani Watts likely will see more playing time for the Chiefs (12-4), who coupled their win with New England’s 27-24 loss to Miami to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs.

“All players are different,” Reid said, via The Athletic. “Kendall Fuller, one of our most flexible guys, plays everywhere.”
