Kansas City Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel said Monday that Brady Quinn will remain the starting quarterback as long as he is healthy.

Quinn may have sustained a concussion during Sunday’s 26-16 loss to the Oakland Raiders. The Chiefs also have a short week as they travel to the San Diego Chargers on Thursday.

Otherwise, the 1-6 Chiefs will start either the recently-benched Matt Cassel or Ricky Stanzi.

“First of all, we have to see about Brady and what his situation is and whether he can go or not,” Crennel said in the Kansas City Star. “Then we’ll evaluate Matt and his situation and also we’ll evaluate Stanzi.

“I’m not ruling out anybody. I have to look at everybody. I know time is a constraint that I have to work under, but the first thing that has to be done is to see where Brady is. If he’s not available, then I need to see about the other two and then make a decision.”

Cassel took over after Quinn was knocked out of the game.
