Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has an adductor strain, making his status for Week 6 uncertain, ESPN reported Tuesday.

Cook was injured on the Vikings’ first drive of the second half Sunday night in their loss to Seattle. Cook returned briefly later in the third quarter but sat out the remainder of the game.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Monday that the MRI on Cook “went pretty well” and that the team will see how Cook does this week in practice. The Athletic reported Tuesday that Cook is likely out for Sunday.

The Vikings host the 0-5 Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and have a bye the following week.

Alexander Mattison replaced Cook on Sunday and rushed for 112 yards on 20 carries. He also caught three passes for 24 yards in the loss. Mattison would get the start if Cook is unable to go against the Falcons.

Cook had 65 yards rushing against the Seahawks and remains the NFL’s rushing leader with 489 yards and seven touchdowns. He signed a five-year, $63 million extension last month with $28 million in guaranteed money.
