Minnesota Vikings receiver Adam Thielen was downgraded to out for Monday night’s game at the Seattle Seahawks due to his hamstring injury, the team announced Sunday.

Thielen will miss his third straight game and fourth in the past five due to the injury he initially suffered against the Detroit Lions on Oct. 20.

There was hope Thielen would return this week and the Vikings listed him as questionable on Saturday. He was a limited practice participant on Friday and Saturday.

But Thielen expressed concern when asked if he could play if the hamstring wasn’t fully healed.

“Probably not, no, just because I know that if you’re not 100 percent, you’re just going to come out five plays into the game anyway,” Thielen said. “The biggest difference from a hamstring from a different injury is you can play through pain with other injuries. As I found out quickly with a hamstring, if you’re feeling any pain, eventually it’s just not going to work.”

Thielen has 27 catches for 391 yards and six touchdowns in eight games this season for the Vikings (8-3).

The Vikings also ruled out defensive tackle Jalyn Holmes (not injury related) on Sunday. Holmes has played in five games and has just one tackle.

Minnesota linebacker Ben Gedeon (concussion) was previously ruled out against the Seahawks (9-2).

Safeties Harrison Smith (hamstring) and Anthony Harris (groin) and defensive tackles Linval Joseph (knee) and Shamar Stephen (knee) are listed as questionable for the Vikings.
