New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley participated in individual drills Thursday and could be on the field for Monday night’s showdown with the New England Patriots.

The Jets’ prized free-agent acquisition has been sidelined since suffering a groin injury during the second half of the season-opening loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 8.

Coach Adam Gase said the ideal plan is for Mosley to do more in practice on Friday and Saturday with an eye on helping the Jets (1-4) against the visiting Patriots (6-0).

Mosley, 27, signed a five-year, $85 million contract with $51 million guaranteed with the Jets in May.

He earned four Pro Bowl nods in five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, who made him a first-round pick (17th overall) in 2014 out of Alabama.

Mosley tallied six tackles, recovered a fumble and returned an interception for a touchdown in his debut against the Bills. In 78 career games (all starts), he has 603 tackles, 10 interceptions and 8.5 sacks.
