The New York Jets are expected to fire head coach Adam Gase following the team’s season finale Sunday at the New England Patriots, NFL Network reported Saturday.

Gase put together an abysmal 9-22 record over the past two seasons with the Jets after spending three seasons as the Miami Dolphins head coach, where he went 23-25, including a wild-card appearance in 2016.

The Jets are expected to conduct a thorough search for their next head coach. Some of the candidates include Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Ravens defensive coordinator Don Martindale, Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley and Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, per the report.

New York could be an attractive landing spot for a head coach considering the team will have the No. 2 overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Jets also own Seattle’s 2021 first-round selection which it collected in the offseason deal that sent safety Jamal Adams to the Seahawks.
