New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold aggravated his throwing shoulder and will not practice Thursday, coach Adam Gase said.

Darnold, who has missed two games with the right shoulder injury, had an MRI on Monday and said it felt better. He aggravated the shoulder in Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Gase was positive about Darnold’s chance to practice Friday and start Monday night’s game against the New England Patriots (2-5). Joe Flacco would get the start if Darnold can’t go for the winless Jets.

Darnold is completing 58.6 percent of his passes for 1,045 yards and three touchdowns on the season. He has thrown six interceptions.

Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (hamstring) and wide receiver Jamison Crowder (groin) also will miss practice Thursday.
