The Philadelphia Eagles lost two key pieces of their offense on Monday night, as standout right tackle Lane Johnson and wide receiver Alshon Jeffery were injured in the first half.

As the third quarter began, the Eagles announced that neither would return to the game against the visiting New York Giants.

Johnson was carted off the field with an apparent left ankle injury during the second quarter.

Johnson was hurt when Giants defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson and Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz landed on his left leg with 4:05 left in the first half. Johnson was blocking New York linebacker Markus Golden and didn’t see the contact coming.

Jeffery departed earlier in the second quarter with a foot injury.

The Giants led 17-3 at the half.
