The Philadelphia Eagles are cleaning house in the wide-receiver department with the intention to release Alshon Jeffery next month, NFL Network reported Monday.

The news comes just three days after the team released veteran wideout DeSean Jackson.

Hampered by offseason foot surgery, Jeffery caught just six passes for 115 yards and one touchdown in seven games as the Eagles went 4-11-1 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

In 46 games over four seasons with the Eagles, including a Super Bowl title to conclude the 2017 campaign, Jeffery had 171 receptions for 2,237 yards and 20 TDs. He had 12 receptions three touchdown catches in the 2017 playoffs.

According to the report, Jeffery officially will be released when the new NFL year begins in March. The move will knock off the final year of the 31-year-old’s four-year, $52 million extension he signed in 2017.

Jeffery, who played his first five seasons with the Chicago Bears, has 475 career receptions over 109 games for 6,786 yards and 46 TDs.
