Free agent offensive tackle Jason Peters hopes to play in the NFL this year, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday.

The 38-year-old veteran has engaged in discussions with his longtime team, the Philadelphia Eagles, but is willing to look elsewhere, according to Schefter.

Peters also filmed a recent training video for teams to see his fitness level.

The Eagles released the nine-time Pro Bowl selection in early March, stating that they reached a mutual agreement with Peters to allow him to test free agency.

“We are appreciative of everything Jason has contributed to the organization over the last 11 seasons in Philadelphia, including building a first-ballot Hall of Fame career and helping us win our first Super Bowl championship,” the Eagles posted to Twitter.

“Jason has been an incredible leader and person both on and off the field. We will remain in communication as each side continues to evaluate its options in free agency.”

At the same time, Eagles coach Doug Pederson told NBC Sports Philadelphia he would gladly invited Peters back for 2020.

A longtime left tackle, Peters would be willing to move to right tackle for the right team, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo tweeted in late March.

Peters started 13 games last season, his 16th year in the NFL. He signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract in March 2019.

Among the most successful undrafted players in league history, he signed with the Bills out of Arkansas in 2004 and played in Buffalo through 2008 before joining the Eagles. He has played in 205 games (195 starts), and he received first-team All-Pro honors in 2011 and 2013.

Peters was selected to the 2010s All-Decade Team chosen by the league.
