The San Francisco 49ers have signed oft-injured tight end Jordan Reed to a one-year deal, ESPN reported Monday.

It’s an incentive-laden deal for Reed, who has suffered a series of concussions, according to the report. Reed reunites with coach Kyle Shanahan, whom Reed played for in Washington as a rookie in 2013.

It also gives the Niners a sold one-two punch with Reed and George Kittle, if the 30-year-old Reed can stay healthy.

Reed missed all of last season with a concussion, his seventh documented dating back to his college career at Florida. He has yet to play a full season.

Reed’s best season came in 2015 when he played in 14 games and caught 87 passes for 952 yards and 11 touchdowns. Reed caught 329 passes for 3,371 yards and 24 touchdowns in his six playing seasons with Washington, which drafted Reed in the third round of the 2013 draft.
