Blake Bortles worked out for the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday.

The Seahawks enter Week 6 with Geno Smith as the starting quarterback after Russell Wilson underwent surgery on his finger last week. Wilson was injured in a 26-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday.

Bortles, 29, has not been on an NFL roster during the 2021 regular season.

He does have familiarity with the offensive system run by Shane Waldron with one season as a backup with the Rams on his resume.

Drafted with the No. 3 overall pick in 2014, Bortles spent five seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He was briefly part of the offseason roster of the Green Bay Packers. When Aaron Rodgers returned from a prolonged holdout, Bortles was let go.
