The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have added to their depth at edge rusher by agreeing to terms with outside linebacker Randy Gregory on a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Gregory, 31, started three of four games last season for the Denver Broncos and had nine tackles, one sack and two quarterback hits before his Oct. 6 trade to San Francisco.

He appeared in 12 regular-season games and three playoff games as the 49ers advanced to the Super Bowl LVIII, which they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. He totaled 16 tackles, 2.5 sacks and eight QB hits.

The Broncos obtained a 2024 sixth-round pick for Gregory and a seventh-round pick from the 49ers.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Gregory in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Nebraska. He played from 2015-21 with Dallas, 2022-23 with Denver and in 2023 with San Francisco, totaling 117 tackles, 22 sacks, 69 QB hits, 10 forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception in a career marred by injuries and league suspensions, including all of the 2017 and 2019 seasons.

The Buccaneers are looking for help at outside linebacker after releasing Pro Bowler Shaquil Barrett for salary cap relief. Barrett later signed with the Miami Dolphins.
