The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed wide receiver Mike Evans and safety Jordan Whitehead on injured reserve on Wednesday.

Wide receiver Spencer Schnell was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.

Evans pulled his hamstring at the end of the first quarter of the 38-35 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 8 as he made a 61-yard touchdown catch. On the season, he had 67 receptions for 1,157 yards and eight touchdowns. He was selected to his third Pro Bowl on Tuesday.

The Buccaneers’ first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Evans is the team’s all-time leader in receptions (462), receiving yards (7,260) and receiving touchdowns (48).

In his second season in the NFL, Whitehead started 14 games for Tampa Bay. He had 68 tackles (four for loss), nine passes defensed, one interception and one fumble recovery. He also is suffering from a hamstring injury.

Schnell will be eligible to play on Saturday when the Bucs (7-7) host the Houston Texans (9-5).

An undrafted free agent from Illinois State, the 5-foot-8 Schnell signed with the Buccaneers in May. In the preseason, he caught seven passes for 119 yards.
