Just over four minutes were left in the fourth quarter on Saturday in Pullman and Washington State trailed visiting Utah, 24-21. Quarterback Gardner Minshew had already thrown for two touchdowns and run for another. Was there still one more big play in the bag for the Cougars?
Washington State had the ball on its own 11-yard line with time running out. That’s when Minshew threw to wide receiver Easop Winston down the right sideline. The junior from San Francisco caught the ball over his shoulder, made a couple of moves to break free from a defender and outran the Utes to the end zone. Washington State then won the game, 28-24.
For the day, Minshew completed 31 passes for 445 yards and Winston had four receptions for 115 yards. His 89-yard game-winner is this week’s U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”
Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”
