With a little more than a month to go before the NFL Draft, pro teams, front office personnel and their talent evaluators will be honing in on college campuses around the country for pro days.
Wednesday, Alabama will join Buffalo, Central Oklahoma, Colorado, Colorado State, Louisville, Marshall, Monmouth (N.J.), Oklahoma, Rutgers and Wisconsin as schools opening up their doors for pro scouts.
But the main attraction will be in Tuscaloosa, where 19 draft-eligible Crimson Tide seniors will work out inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility in an effort to impress NFL personnel.
Nick Saban has been turning out pro prospects at a rapid rate since he took over the Bama football program in 2007 and this year is no different following another national championship season. According to Lindy’s pre-draft rankings, defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson, inside linebacker Reggie Ragland and defensive end/tackle Jarran Reed are projected as first round picks. Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry is teetering between a first and second rounder.
Ragland and Reed didn’t participate at the NFL Combine so solid performances Wednesday could enhance their draft stock. Henry, quarterback Jake Coker, running back Kenyan Drake and center Ryan Kelly could also improve their standing among pro scouts by showing well.
Alabama’s Pro Day will kick off at 11:00 a.m. and last until 2:00 p.m. It will be televised live on the SEC Network. Lindy’s staffers will be present gathering intel on the days events.
