New York Yankees star Aaron Judge was out of the lineup for Sunday night’s game against the host Los Angeles Dodgers with a sore right foot.

Judge banged the foot into the bottom of the right-field fence Saturday while making a catch, according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone. With the Yankees off Monday, Judge will get two days of rest to see if the soreness subsides.

Boone did not know whether Yankees fans should be concerned that Judge would return to the injured list.

“Not at this point, but we’ll see how he is today, (Monday), the next day,” Boone told reporters.

The reigning American League MVP spent time on the 10-day injured list in late April and May with a hip injury.

In 49 games this season, Judge has hit a league-leading 19 home runs, 10 doubles and 40 RBIs. His .674 slugging percentage and 1.078 OPS lead the majors.

Boone also said left-handed starting pitcher Nestor Cortes “probably” will need a stint on the IL with a shoulder injury. Cortes is expected to miss at least one start, if not more.

Cortes, a first-time All-Star last year, is 5-2 with a 5.16 ERA in 11 starts this year.
